Granting clemency to these women is the right thing to do. Go to the link in bio listed below to easily sign petitions to get these women home. Jails and prisons are not built to keep staff and inmates safe from covid, and for older and immune compromised people, it’s just a cruel risk. Act now. It’s so easy. #Repost @justicelanow with @get_repost

Because of the tireless efforts of impacted families, Governor Newsom finally granted clemency to Patricia Wright, a 68-year-old grandmother and domestic violence survivor. A brain and breast cancer survivor now battling Stage III ovarian cancer, she will now be able to spend the last 6-12 months of her life at home, with family. We thank Governor Newsom for his mercy. When we fight, we win.

But the fight is not over. We will continue to call upon the Governor to release ALL medically vulnerable people from California prisons. Maria Ardeondo, Lucia Bravo, Ameenah Rasul, Cecilia Fraher, Rickie Blue-Sky, Elaine Wong, and Shajia Ayobi are all elders at extremely high risk of death—they must be granted clemency NOW. All have family and loved ones eager and ready to support them upon release. It’s time to bring them home.

While today we specifically call for the release of these especially vulnerable folks, our fight goes beyond the elderly, and includes everyone imprisoned in a cage. We won’t stop until we #FreeThemAll.

Please click the link in @c_c_w_p ‘s bio to sign their clemency positions, share this post with as many people as you can, and include the hashtags #NoMoreDeaths and #ClemencyNow for visibility. #BringThemHome #ClemencyNow #NoMoreDeaths
