Please, take this seriously. The current state of the world has caused me, and I’m sure most of you, to focus on and address general health issues and question mortality. I stay home and I wear a mask to protect my friends, my family, my neighbors, the elderly, and also to protect myself. 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙫𝙞𝙧𝙪𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙣𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙨𝙢𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙗𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙣𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙤𝙧 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙚𝙡𝙨𝙚! It truly saddens me that there are still far too many people who are unwilling to listen to reason, and are instead looking out for their own petty wants - as opposed to thinking about the implications their selfish behavior will have on others. I try to abide by the Naked Rule: If you have to put clothes on, you should put on a mask. And, I am conducting myself as though I have already been infected, and it’s important that I do so because I have a preexisting condition. Sixteen years ago, I was diagnosed with Primary Hyperoxaluria. I have learned to live with it and it’s not something I typically discuss. I consider myself fortunate that it has never prevented me from appreciating life or living it to the fullest. I am grateful for each moment of every day that I am alive and I have every intention of continuing to live my life as best I can. I deeply value doing things for the greater-good of humanity, and this pandemic has lead me to reflect on my relationship with people based on their response to the current state of things. People’s opinions may differ, which is fine, you have every right to your opinions and beliefs. But here’s where I stand: If you refuse to take this situation seriously, won’t remain distanced, and will not wear a mask putting me and others at risk, You are a Selfish, Inconsiderate Jerk (I could have used other language but frankly, you don’t deserve to get me so upset as to use profanities, you simply aren’t worth it).
