As a leader of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, Lewis was a committed participant in some of the key moments of the movement , one of the original Freedom Riders in 1961, a principal speaker at the March on Washington in 1963, one of those brutally clubbed during a 1965 march in Selma, Alabama. Through everything during the 60s’ he was one of the prominent figures in the Civil Rights Movement, and for that, I gotta salute him. May he rest peacefully and may his family grieve in peace. I gotta thank this man for allowing me to make portraits of him during the 2016 DNC.
