One night in March, Tiffany McGee received news her son Tre’mall had been shot. After arriving at the hospital, McGee recalls a detective telling her she couldn’t see her son that night. She left the hospital thinking Tre’mall had been a victim of street violence. The following morning, McGee picked Tre’mall up at the juvenile lockup.
“Who shot you, son?” she asked Tre’mall. “He says, ‘It was the police.’”
