It was an Airbnb Experience. We went out to Damaris’s house in Queens and she taught us SO MUCH in one evening. But mostly what i took away from it was that Damaris is a New Yorker with HUSTLE trying to make it for herself. She’s a stand-out in her community as she works at her local elderly home and shops for them on the side. With all of us taking a hit in the pandemic, it’s people like Damaris who are at the top of the list, her business just dried up and went away. So, here’s what I’m asking: at the very least, please follow her @islandlifekitchen. But she’s also selling her products, which she will ship directly to you. And she’s going to start teaching online Zoom cooking classes for VERY CHEAP! It’s such an amazing way to stay connected together and also learn to cook from another culture!
