I thought a very long time about how to word this, but maybe its best to just say it. I never thought of myself as a racist, but, the truth is, as a white, privileged member of a broken system I'm contributing to the problem, whether I want to or not and whether I'm aware of it or not. It will take time and effort to change a system that we've been benefitting from for a long time, but I will do my best to learn more about it and listen to those who have been, and still are, oppressed.
