If that isn’t clear to you by now, I’m sure it will be when YOUR employer or University denies you or your partner birth control coverage. You want less abortions? Good for you. Then you should be fighting against this ridiculous addition to ACA by the Trump/Pence administration. Call your representatives in Congress today and let them know they need to take action immediately to ensure this unconstitutional ruling not be enforced. DO I NEED TO TELL YOU WHO THIS WILL DISPROPORTIONALLY AFFECT?! Ok sure WHY NOT? This will disproportionately affect low income workers, students, BIPOC and the LGBTQIA+ community. You want to be a part of dismantling systemic racism? HERE YOU GO. Call your reps right now. 202-224-3121 Repost from @reprorights : Today, the Supreme Court let stand the Trump-Pence rules allowing nearly any employer and university to deny birth control coverage to their employees and students. A statement from our Senior Vice President of U.S. Programs, Lourdes Rivera, on this decision: “Contraception should not be singled out from the rest of health insurance coverage. Today’s ruling has given bosses the power to dictate how their employees can and cannot use their health insurance—allowing them to intrude into their employees’ private decisions based on whatever personal beliefs their employers happen to hold. “Refusing women the health care they are guaranteed by law is an act of discrimination. This fundamentally wrong-headed ruling is a critical misinterpretation of the Affordable Care Act and what Congress intended. We now look to Congress to act swiftly to ensure that only workers and students, not their bosses or universities, have the authority to decide what health care choices are appropriate for them and their families. Congress should take action to ensure the Administration is prevented from enforcing these discriminatory rules.” #handsoffmybc」7月9日 3時55分 - busyphilipps
