July 4th marks the USA’s “independence day” but its inhabitants experience different forms of freedom. we aren’t even close to great. i can both appreciate my privilege of living here while simultaneously shining a light on the fact that we’re centuries behind on reparations & justice.  to those still hesitating to understand & say “Black Lives Matter”; are u content with ignorance & comfortably numb w your privilege? no losses will plague u if we create equality & equity for Black lives & help bridge the undeniable gap that has been sustained by the system since they were forced into slavery for the white colonizers of early america.  non-BIPOC of the US, if we can’t acknowledge the genocide of the Native Americans that we stole this land from + the US’s continued oppression towards this diminishing group of ppl & fight for the restitution of their sacred lands, wealth, & well-being, we’ve truly lost the way as a nation. how is any of this greatness?   if there’s 1 thing i cherish most about living here, it’s that we have access to info to educate ourselves on pressing human rights issues & then VOTE for politicians that will help actualize these dreams. not just our future president but district attorneys, judges, congressional members, etc. that affect education curriculums, police funding, unethical bail + jail practices…the list goes on. simply put, voting absolutely matters.  if u made it this far, thank u. keep learning, keep loving, keep listening. we are seriously all in this together. some of our lives depend on it. all of our lives will be better for it ❤️」7月5日 8時29分 - krewella
