The racism & inequality that has existed in this country is reprehensible to me. The glaring injustice of what has happened & continues to happen to our people of color is horrendous & must be eradicated. I choose to celebrate today with my family as a day of awakening, to continue to show/teach them that WE ARE ALL CREATED EQUAL, NO MATTER WHAT THE COLOR OF OUR SKIN IS. @wrenandglory sent me this jacket & i LOVE IT. I feel it represents where we are as a country in such a perfect way. The different colors represent all of us, the spikes represent the war we are raging against racism but also the tenacity that will continue until that racism is gone. I asked @wrenandglory to paint #fae & #jcl so this commitment to my children & their generation is literally like my heart & on my sleeve.
