“This process to capture images was trial and error. As with most things, there were a lot of errors. I set a camera on top of the Giants’ dugout and triggered it with a remote. Any time someone came into the dugout celebrating, off I clicked. One of the most frustrating things was finding the correct exposure. You had white home uniforms with back lit faces wearing helmets, which cast a shadow across their faces. My philosophy is to expose for the face and pray the uniforms don’t blow out the image. In this image, Barry Bonds supplied the celebratory moment that was needed, hitting a home run and beating the Dodgers. Those are moments that are worth the effort of many trials.” - Martha J.
