In the first days of May, the Covid-19 pandemic had us all at a standstill, stuck indoors waiting patiently for news.
Mary and I decided to use our car as a mobile studio to drive around documenting our friends and their friends from afar.
Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Far Rockaway, Manhattan and upstate NY.
We packed lunch, some snacks, a hot thermos, plenty of masks, and my camera.
Pulling up and driving by everyones house’s, apt buildings, storefronts, and farms was a window into everyone’s lives
during lockdown. It was a genuine exchange of love and affection and A good feeling to say “hey how ya doing, how you holding up.” Everyone shared their story and it was nice to listen - spending a few minutes together in a very bizarre moment in time, was very comforting. These photographs are portraits of people we love and respect. It was great to see everyone and thanks for stepping outside. Thank you so much for being apart.
