#NowPlaying this “greatest hits” compilation by Dead Kennedys. I keep thinking of this title- Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death- lately. Protests are inconvenient. Wearing a mask is inconvenient. Thinking about the chronic inequalities in this country is inconvenient. And we mistake “convenience” for “liberty” way too easily.
Also the songs are great. Police Truck slaps, as does Too Drunk to Fuck, and Holiday in Cambodia indicts lazy white liberals with a venom that Malcolm X would envy.
