In a difficult period, @keedronbryant’s voice has been a beacon of hope. In the days following the murder of George Floyd, the 12-year-old gospel singer’s powerful song, “I Just Wanna Live,” written by his mother, Johnnetta, was posted on Instagram, and quickly garnered more than 3 million views, drawing praise from the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Lebron James. Last week, “I Just Wanna Live” received an official release when it was announced that Keedron had signed a record deal with Warner Bros. “With my music, I want to convey that Black people can live on this earth and enjoy life like everybody else can,” Keedron tells BAZAAR. “Everybody can come together as equals and be free. That’s basically what I want to get out there, that we can love each other in the same way.” Head to the link in our bio to read the full story from our Summer issue.
