Josh Aronson @jda.usa rarely saw the side of Florida life he knew as a boy portrayed in films and photography. Now, in the second edition of "Tropicana", his previously sold out photo book, he returns to the mangroves and beaches of his upbringing. There, in collaboration with over 30 artists and activists, he renders scenes of harmony in the Sunshine State. Aronson's luscious, colorful prints evoke a sense of utopia contrasting with sensationalized narratives, such as ‘Spring Breakers’ and ‘Miami Vice’, while proposing a hopeful alternative. His "Tropicana", named after the Florida orange juice brand, embodies a visual reminder of the world countless Americans are fighting for in 2020.
