This year looks absolutely nothing like the way I storyboarded it. Plans and goals have been wiped away as the world sags under the weight of illness and social injustice. But the optimist in me looks over the horizon and clings to the faith that we will come out of this dark night into a brighter morning, filled with empathy, justice, equal opportunity and hope.
