Today I'm delighted to be able to #sharethemic with award winning international writer, educator and artist, Gunai woman @Kirli.Saunders Kirli created the Poetry in First Languages project delivered by @RedRoomPoetry. She is an esteemed judge for the Prime Minister’s Literary Awards 2020 and is the 2020 NSW Aboriginal Woman of the Year.
Kirli’s picture books and poetry collection, Kindred, as well as her work in arts project management aim to celebrate and share First Nations Culture, Country and Identity while healing the impacts of intergenerational traumas.
I encourage you to get yourself a copy of Kirli’s books, to read First Nations writers widely and to educate yourself on the injustices facing our First Nations Peoples.
