Some Sundays he would help me get my paper round done before taking me to play football, he bought me my first Bass guitar, would drive me to gigs, help set up amps and PA systems, drove me to my first audition and sat with me in silence while we awaited news on whether or not I had booked my first regular role in ‘Brookside’ back in the day.
