This weekend the African American community is celebrating Juneteenth to commemorate the emancipation of Enslaved Africans in the United States.
We do not celebrate it here over in the UK but It’s acknowledged that African bodies were illegally used to build the economies of rich nations like the United States the UK and many parts of Europe. It is acknowledged that Africa’s rich natural resources were illegally exploited and used to do the same. It is also acknowledged that justice had been promised that was never actualised (Special Field Orders No.15) even over here in the UK more recently with the Wind-rush Scandal were thousands of records of Carribean immigrants who came into the UK at the time we’re destroyed and as a result lead to people being wrongfully deported from the UK deprived of Benefits . We know that the modern equivalent of around £17 Billion was paid out to compensate slave owners for the loss of their human property and we as the British Taxpayers have been paying off debts owed by the British government up until 2015.
In a time we’re humanity is standing together to put wrongs right. Employers are being held to account for misconduct, Filmmakers and Celebrities who have acted wrongfully and inappropriately are being brought to justice by their victims. Big business are being forced consider their carbon footprint to invest back into the Environment so it will be safe for our children and future generations to live, Words, Songs, Images, Movies that we’re deemed inappropriate and offensive in this new conscious and progressive time are being left in the ages they came from.
What then is the cost for all of the Murder, rape, displacement, Brutality and exploitation on the Black Race by White Governments and White Slave Owners?
What is needed to be done to make things right and make the world a more fairer and equal place.
We have been marching and protesting since the 40s 50s 60s 70s My grandparents showed my parents similar images my parents showed me and now I will show my children.
What needs to be done now to make real permanent irreversible change and who will stand up and come forward to do what’s right. Video repost @ozwald_boa
