[ad] taking in the distinct pleasure of using a @モンブラン #meisterstück writing instrument to write a note for papa gao this father’s day. a favorite life lesson came from something he used to say when we were assembling furniture — “if it’s in the manual, it ain’t worth knowing!” and yes you could hear the exclamation point as he said this. so we played it by ear and made mistakes often (there were many backward drawers). in the grand scheme of things, i still think about it as not following others’ prescriptions and directions and forging your own path, even if it zigzags.
