while the world has been facing a global pandemic, the silent war in Oakland has been on our homeless community. from gentrification to city government neglect, now amidst the pandemic the shelters have closed. i heard about @peoplesbreakfastoakland and what they do, going from providing food once a month to 3 times a WEEK since the pandemic started. sunday’s “Cleat Check” provided 500 pairs of shoes, 300 meals, clothing & sanitary packs. thank you for allowing me in y’all space.
