I had gotten hooked on his album “Fish Ain’t Bitin” - it’s got these horns on it that remind me of New Orleans and Corey’s voice can take on so many timbres and tones, it’s like hearing a singer's multiple personalities - and his guitar playing.. like he’s got a few extra fingers. He’s doing the Robert Johnson style where he plays the bass line and the melody at the same time. And this song always caught my attention- there’s a line where he says “ 5-1 beat you when you’re down, treat you just like a king” and then slides in “yea Rodney King”.
