The response to the brutal, tragic, and unnecessary deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, Ahmaud Arbery, and uncountable other victims of white supremacist violence has demanded that we immediately turn inward and examine how we must work to change our own white-centric company culture, which has, for too long, resulted in harm that we have failed to recognize. . In an effort to make these changes, and with the knowledge that a donation and a few hasty initiatives will not provide the lasting shift that is necessary, we’ve begun our own anti-racist process with a self-audit to identify key impact areas for future changes. We will be conducting a series of conversations with all Stumptown employees over the next week to create a set of concrete, ongoing goals, initiatives, and accountability measures. We plan to report on our progress regularly over the next year, with the long-term goal of an annual transparency report that includes an update on these initiatives. .
