I oversee new business, partnerships, and operations. I am the face and spokesperson of the company. I don’t do this all by myself and I’m lucky to have a dedicated and loyal team who guides us forward. Let’s rewind to how I got here. . . I graduated with a political science degree from @spelman_college and a Masters in Communications Degree from @georgetownuniversity . I graduated from @georgetownuniversity in the middle of the recession of 2009. I was scared. I had a Master’s Degree and the only job I could swing was a full time internship. I powered through and later ended up working at one of the leading communications agencies. Saw no diversity , started @colorcomm. Honed my media relations skills working as a communications Director for @repebj , and for @barackobama FL campaign HQ as a Media Booker. Then back to the private sector working at a crisis communications firm. . . At 28, I was the youngest to receive PR Week’s 40 under 40 that year. Later I left my full time and well paid job to take a bet on myself and turn @colorcomm into the corporation it is today. . . Since then , I’ve received numerous awards from @adage, @prweek, @nywici, @the.root, and more. I’ve been featured in @cosmopolitan , @essence, @washingtonpost , @adweek, @blackenterprise, and more. I served on the @cannes_lions jury in 2017. I’ve learned a lot of lessons, fell down many times and got back up again. I’m excited to do the work each day knowing that @colorcomm is critical to help strengthen the voices of those who are often underrepresented in the overall business and political discourse.
