This week’s edition of #HeroesOfBrooklyn features Jess and Elizabeth Calvo, owners of @thaifarmkitchen in Brooklyn’s Kensington neighborhood. Following their restaurant’s adjustment to offer only delivery and take-out, the Calvos have been feeling the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, however they have made it their goal to give back to the community any way they can. They have been assisting elderly neighbors who are afraid to leave their homes during the pandemic by delivering free meals, offering to pick up and deliver necessary medications, and providing face masks to those in need. Although they have lost business and moved their full-time staff to a part-time schedule, they are continuing to serve approximately 40 elderly customers each day, and the number continues to grow as more neighbors reach out to them. #BrooklynStrong #NBATogether
