The very simple idea behind adding carbon bonding to frames is to change the characteristics of how it behaves. Carbon is an incredibly diverse material, with different layering options and weaves creating different strengths and weaknesses! 💪 Because it's so diverse and relatively easy to make changes, teams can change the carbon bonding quickly and effectively, fine tuning it to pinpoint small changes while keeping positives from other areas. But what are they looking for? 🤔 When teams add carbon to their frames it often means that they are trying to alter the stiffness, flex and twist of their chassis in one way or another. Teams are always looking for lateral flex and vertical stiffness.
