This past week, I immersed myself in becoming educated about the privileges of non-black people in America. Educating myself through this current moment, donating to foundations that are dedicated to implementing change, and signing petitions to move forward legislature that just begins to scratch the surface of what the black community needs. My heart was breaking in a million pieces as I watched footage from the #BlackLivesMatter protest for the lives we’ve lost needlessly (George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery are only the most recent examples of a long list that should never have existed), for the heartache black mothers, fathers, and their children are feeling. For the progress, we should have made by now. These nationwide protests for racial justice are a powerful reminder that we as parents of all backgrounds need to be pro-active in raising our children to understand racism and discrimination. My child will know why this exists, how to dismantle it and make a positive change in the world. Olly is only 10 months old, but from today on, we will be actively raising him to create a difference.  #motherhood」6月9日 5時35分 - biancamaycheah
