リンジー・スコットさんのインスタグラム写真 - (リンジー・スコットInstagram)「I’ve been cycling through a whole range of emotions over the past few weeks: Sadness over another senseless death; anger at the hypocrisy I’ve seen from people I’ve previously witnessed being complicit in racial oppression now posting their support without acknowledging that they’ve been part of the problem (especially in the fashion industry); fear of the frequent explosions, sirens, helicopters and heightened police/military agression in my neighborhood; confusion over “why are people listening now?” when African-Americans have been trying to express our suffering for so long; mistrust about people’s intentions... But driving down the streets of LA during the past few days and seeing primarily non-POC peacefully protesting, risking their health and safety for us in the middle of the coronavirus & police brutality pandemics makes my eyes tear up with hope. It’s moving to see others finally say with their actions that It’s OK, I understand you’re tired, I acknowledge your struggle, I know how much harder you’ve had to fight for everything you’ve achieved and I’ll pick up some of that fight for you. So here’s my personal thanks to everyone — POC, non-POC, Americans, those abroad — committed to helping our world change for the better.
