This unity paddle out was hands down the most powerful thing I’ve ever experienced as part of the surfing community. But like Sal said, we have to keep showing up tomorrow, the next day, the next, and all the days. So here’s my pledge: I pledge to vote, to do my research and try to put people in office (especially at the local and municipal level) who will actively fight systemic racism. I pledge to educate myself, and to elevate the voices of black people in our communities. I pledge to listen, to learn, and to hopefully change myself for the better. This is just the beginning. 🖤 #ChangeJohselfChangeTheWorld
