We have been having a lot of uncomfortable discussions and a lot of tears have been shed lately. I’ve always been aware of the atrocities done to the black community but never have I understood it quite like I do now. There is a saying that says “we pay for the sins of our fathers” and it keeps replaying over and over again in my mind. But it doesn’t have to be a negative thing where someone else has to suffer because another person did. To me it means that history is fluid and we are forever connected to it. We must uplift one another always and right the wrongs that have been done otherwise the cycle of pain and suffering will continue.
