And being born into privilege and not knowing what it’s like to grow up as a person of color, I worry about accidently hurting or pissing people off by saying, doing or posting the wrong thing. So to everyone saying ‘this doesn’t help’, ‘this is not enough’ or ‘you should be doing more/something else’: please bear with me. And all of us black-square-posters. We know it’s not the answer. But it’s a starting point, a way of showing support and the intention is good. (And I for one was moved by seeing my entire feed going black - maybe it’s stupid but to me it looked like the world coming together) Let’s focus our energy on changing what evidently needs to be changed instead of telling off people we basically agree with.
