I can’t for a second try and pretend to understand what it’s like to walk a step in their shoes. Over the last few days reaching out to my friends who are directly effected by the systemic prejudices and racism it was beyond apprehension hearing what they still have to deal with. Embarrassingly I had no idea. Situations and scenarios that when I go through it is met with a completely different tone. One I certainly have taken for granted. I don’t want my friends to continue to feel this way. Nor anyone else who is treated with anything less than equal humanity, compassion and the grace that I’m afforded.
