To start, just want to say I am 100000% here for the Black Lives Matter movement and I’m proud to be a part and I’m here to fight for it. **if you want to know how you can help, I recommend getting more information, I think the Netflix show 13th showed a lot of history we kinda of graze over or ignore in public schooling & then doing what you can locally whether that’s voting in local elections or attending protests or holding your friends and family to higher standards of anti racist behavior and calling people out on their shit when our see it* This past weekend, I attended the protests on Saturday and Sunday in downtown Austin. On Saturday, (less organized, more chaotic) there was a bit of aggression on both sides. Day 2, was calmer, the crowd still had so much pain and passion. I was FLOORED by the amount of people that attended. And I was so incredibly moved by the comradery. People handing out snacks, water, hand sanitizers, extra masks, and more. People lifting each other up, rallying one another, RUNNING to assist anyone pepper sprayed or injured, holding one another, chanting in unison. It was powerful and it was moving and I felt hope that this many people saw and wanted to fight for the injustice towards our Black communities. These protests are happening all over the country, even outside of the country?? And we are NOT going to accept racist mistreatment anymore so you better HOP ON BOARD. 🚃🚃 **also riots = symptom , racist people/particularly those in power = illness — let’s focus on the illness and the symptoms will be cured, I assure you**however peaceful protests clearly exist and I encourage you to attend IF safe and accessible to you!** . I will be on the right side of history and i am here to educate myself and anyone who will listen now.
