Wanting more than anything to heal us. But such an insidious issue does not just leave in the night with no trace left behind. . . We’re diseased and we have to start the treatment plan right now. It’s already past due. I’ve spent the weekend having conversations, coming to uncomfortable realizations, listening to other voices, and trying to educate myself. As a friend posted, it’s not up to POC to teach us. It’s up to us to learn, listen, and speak up. . . There’s evil everywhere, in every profession, on every side. This is not meant to generalize. This post is meant to make you think and come to those uncomfortable realizations too. Because the reality is, POC are consistently discriminated and targeted. Racism never disappeared, it simply shifted into another accepted form.  And I refuse to close my eyes to that or make excuses. There is no excuse. We have to be better.
