We must do better. I must do better. I have spent the last few days reading and listening to as many voices possible to understand how i can be an ally. I personally cannot stand virtue signaling (there is so much of it on social media these days) and have always worried that i lack the experience and the vocabulary to address racism head on but i have decided i would rather speak out at the risk of coming across as hypocritical, make mistakes (to learn from) and keep fighting, than remain outraged in silence. Compiling a reading list and researching where to donate (@reclaimtheblock @blackvisionscollective @mnfreedomfund @rachelcargle @brooklynbailfund @nationalbailout to name a few) has felt like a good place to start since the fallback on these communities that are protesting for their basic human rights will be terrible.
