The state I was raised in taught it to me and I have seen it in every state I have lived in since, North, South, East and West. I was taught about the “heritage” of the South and of the Civil War. The heritage of the “Confederate Flag,” which still flies on the MS state flag. It is all absolute total unfettered bullshit. It is a stain on the whole of our country. It is not something to be honored, it is something to tear down, to purge. It is a sickness that permeates every aspect of our society and it has to stop. The events of ATTICA took place 49 years ago and not a damn thing has changed. Racism lead the retaking of Attica and racist police murdered prisoners and hostages alike. The torture that followed that retaking is enough to turn your stomach and your soul. The system that did everything it could to cover it up will do the same.
