Or put up an image without some real thought and words behind it. Instead, I wanted to post after doing some work: reading a few essays, having uncomfortable conversations and listening to some thought provoking podcasts. Today I learned the term "micro aggression" from @chrissyford, something I'm sure I've been guilty of without even realizing it. As a parent to two small children, I've been trying to educate myself on how to have these incredibly important conversations with them. To educate myself on how they can be raised differently than the generations before them. I'm not going to pretend to know how hard it has been because I never will. There is no doubt that I am privileged in so many ways. However, I will continue to do the work beyond this. I will listen and ask questions.
