It is vitally important to our very humanity. It does not and cannot end with this month. Our humanity rests in the fight against systemic racism and the brutalizing of our black brothers and sisters. This is nothing new for them. This has been happening and continues to happen on a daily basis. We’ve seen it too many times in this country as black people have been killed, brutalized, incarcerated and dehumanized. Enough is enough. History repeats itself over and over again. As a descendent of the Japanese American concentration camps, an unjustly and cruel stain in America’s past, I am committed and stand with my black brothers and sisters in this fight against injustice. While it has always been crucial, there has never been a more important time (in our lives) to build a bridge of solidarity between all our communities. Asian. Americans. stand. up.
