サラ・エレンさんのインスタグラム写真 - (サラ・エレンInstagram)「Systematic racism is nothing new. It is insidious and covert. It is quiet and does not always manifest itself as acts of physical violence like the horrific murder of #GeorgeFloyd. It exists in places from discrimination in the workforce to being monitored in the supermarket. This is a reality that black people must confront everyday. All these things make it clear that we still live in a world that devalues black and POC lives. It would also be foolish of me to not acknowledge specifically Australia’s own dark history of racism and the racist attitude that still exist today towards Aboriginal people. But what can we do? How many more protests and hashtags until there is true and meaningful change? As horrific as these murders are—I cannot look away and I encourage you not to either. Call out racism on all levels when you see it. Have conversations with your white friends. The responsibility is not on black people/people of colour to educate you on what their experiences have been. For me, race has always been a complex issue as I am proud of my Australian/Filipino identity but I understand the privileges of being white passing. Don’t stay complicit, act beyond your keyboard. I invite you to take action through the link in my bio. Also—please share in the comments any useful resources you may have and I will share them. Please stay safe everyone 🤍」5月31日 20時42分 - sarahellen
