There is a lack of basic education in this country which makes it convenient for people to hide behind racism. Our criminal justice system was designed for some people to fail after 400 years of oppression so there is no basis for a “black crime statistics” argument. No one deserves the constant trauma of witnessing injustice & police brutality knowing it could be them or their family. These instances are human rights issues - we should all be equally outraged. Oppressive white history created this dysfunction in America so we should help carry the burden & proactively seek resolution. We have a long way to go but we can start with uncomfortable conversations & de-programming bias.
