This week, much has been said of astronauts Douglas Hurley and Robert Behnken’s sleek new SpaceX suits designed by the guy who’s built superhero costumes for Tron, Ironman, and Captain America. Hollywood costume designer Jose Fernandez worked alongside SpaceX founder Elon Musk to create a sharper, sleeker version of the traditional astro suit for the historic SpaceX flight, now lifting off tomorrow. But what about the women astronauts who may (hopefully) fly next? After NASA’s female spacesuit debacle last year, here’s hoping that Musk and Fernandez can innovate further and create an equally-badass suit for women.
