“All systems of oppression are adaptive; they can withstand and adjust to challenges and still maintain inequality.” I’m currently reading White Fragility and this was a quote that jumped out at me. I’m finishing this book this weekend and will be starting Why I’m No Longer Talking to White People About Race just as soon as my used copy arrives in the mail. In the meantime, I’ve put a link in my bio that directs to more resources for anti-racism. I’m learning that it simply is not enough to say “I’m not a racist” but to work actively on anti-racism. I will make plenty of mistakes, as I have in the past, but I won’t allow fear of saying the wrong thing to become my complicity in defending white supremacy.
