RIP❤️ ⁣ ⁣ Been Thinking of how a privileged white woman can even begin to share a viewpoint on this blatant and reoccurring racism. 🙋🏻‍♀️It’s difficult because I see it, but I don’t experience first hand. I don’t live in fear every day as black Americans have to. My perspective is uncontrollably different. This is clear. Although, silence is a weapon. Public advocacy is critical. Speaking up is essential.⁣ ⁣ *Stay with me❗️🥺⁣ ⁣ *Innocent Breonna was fatally shot at least eight times when police forcibly entered her apartment. ⁣ *Ahmaud was jogging through a neighborhood in Georgia when he was hunted and killed by Gregory and Travis McMichael.⁣ *George was recently murdered at the hands of four Minneapolis police officers.⁣ ⁣ — ⁣ This is America. 🇺🇸 I believe in focusing on positive action and more so aiming it towards the root of the issue. If we can’t change the minds of every knowing and unknowingly racist individual, we can educate ourselves, recognize the disease of racism and make sure the people we are voting into power Ie: chief of police , mayors, governors, etc are all morally sound. We can Research the officers in our communities and make sure they don’t show any red flags of unmoral behavior to be able to serve and protect. We can Get to know the officers in our area. Not all cops are bad, As we know, One person does not represent an entire race or profession❤️ ⁣ ⁣ 🔑Although, Racism is more than an individual issue. You better change behavior by changing the structure. Do that, and the mind will follow. When systemic injustices remain unspoken or accepted, an unethical white privilege that the average *not all* white person experiences is fostered. But the positive here is white people can and should use this white privilege to influence. I find myself listening more than ever to discover difficulties minorities face. I educate myself & others and find ways to influence change. White People Can Hold Each Other Accountable to help Stop Institutional Racism. ⁣ ⁣ There is power in numbers.
