アリシア・ウィットさんのインスタグラム写真 - (アリシア・ウィットInstagram)「george floyd. i can’t stop thinking about you, and i can’t stop saying your name. in the midst of a week that has been full of personally good things - productive, progress, positive - i feel the weight of what happened to you so many times each day, and it catches in my throat and makes my eyes flood with tears. i try to keep my posts about joy and light and all of the beauty that this world has to offer - and i find it really hard to write about things that aren’t - but this is too important. there is no version of the detainment in minneapolis a few days ago in which this should have been allowed to happen - in which this human being should have died because of a knee being pressed to his neck until he could no longer breathe. this has happened way too many times to our beautiful Black americans. we need to make this no longer the norm, no longer a weekly headline. i love and respect law enforcement, too. i understand how hard that job is, and i understand that most cops are good humans who are faced with genuinely life threatening situations on a daily basis. but this has to change. #icantbreathe needs to stop. the only silver lining, the only gift that might come of george floyd’s senseless, heartbreaking, and unnecessary death, is that so many are aligned with me in outrage and in speaking up. thank you to all who are sharing this, to all who are signing the petition, and who are calling on those who have the power to change the enforcement of punishment for those who commit murder thru excessive force in the process of detaining an unarmed, outnumbered, immobilized suspect. thru the power of the people, ahmaud arbery’s killers have been arrested. it is thru the power of the people, and enough of us who have grown up accepting our privilege as a given, a way of life, no longer being OK with this. an injustice for one is an injustice for us all - and if there is one thing that my heart knows to be true: we are truly all in this together. thank you for reading. please text FLOYD to 55156 to sign the petition. #georgefloyd #justiceforfloyd」5月29日 3時53分
