SOME SKUNK FUNK by The Brecker Brothers. So, back in ’74 we were rehearsing for the new Arista album “The Brecker Brothers” at Don Grolnick’s apartment on Carmine Street, NYC. Harvey Mason was one of the the hottest drummers in the country, after Herbie Hancock’s “Head Hunters” album had hit late ’73. He flew in from LA, sat down at the drum kit and sightread the chart. I found it a bit challenging myself! Man, I dig that DRY drum sound!
