His knee is on Floyd’s neck for seven minutes. Floyd repeatedly cries out for help. “I can’t breathe. I can’t breathe.” Bystanders plead with the officer to let up, but he refuses. George Floyd died in custody. My heart not only goes out to George Floyd’s loved ones, but to the black community at large.
