I am grateful to report that I no longer am in such a place, but I found this video (no recollection of even recording it) and I wanted to share it because the feelings are so heavy and seem so real when we’re in the midst of them. I was going to post it about a week or so ago and then got a little shameful about it (I still have those feelings from time to time). Today—- I decided to also be a “pussy” like the young war veteran from the British Army who is speaking up about mental health (**Story in My Highlights). A gamer wrote a negative comment about the vet because the former soldier was talking about “mental health bs”. This man who watched his friends die was being trolled after serving his country and making several attempts on his own life because he was having such a hard time coping! Well... he inspired me today. If we don’t talk about this issue, if we don’t SHOW IT, expose it for what it really is, how can we hope to reduce the number of suicides. How can we hope to heal? We all have moments where we’re faced with pain, heartbreak, loss, trauma, abuse, death - if we all go through it, if we all know what it feels like, why can’t we go through it together? Why can’t we lean on each other? I believed a story about myself that wasn’t true. Then I learned an even worse story when #PTSD treatment would lead to my latent memories of childhood sexual abuse being revealed. That led to me getting the help I needed to heal my somatic body where all my trauma was trapped. Thank you @iceman_hof and all the #breathwork teachers who helped alongside my #EMDR Doctor as I faced that nightmare. Thank you for to my girls in Cambodia, survivors of sex-trafficking who showed me a way out of my suffering.
