As I write this my sweet Maw Maw is being laid to rest in Alabama & I’m on my porch in California filled with grief, anger, & sadness that she’s gone, & that I can’t be there. I’ve tried writing something dozens of times about my funny, goofball of a grandma & nothing feels good enough. ⁣

The past few months she wasn’t able to get out of bed & we would FaceTime & she would tell me stories about how she tried called Dolly Parton’s tour bus on the CB radio in the 70’s begging them to pull over so she could meet her. We laughed about her taking me to see Fear & 200 Cigarettes at the movie theatre & her face during the movies when she realized that neither were appropriate for a 12 year old. 🤣 She also took me to my first concert which was @reba & bought me a new outfit at Gap before the show to make sure I felt special. I’ve got so many memories of her (like when my Uncle Brian had to stop her from calling 911 bc I glued my teeth together from trying to open my nail glue & it got all in my mouth 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣), so many photos, & I truly thought I had more time with her. But we never know, do we? ⁣

I’m so grateful that I’ve always told my loved ones how much they mean to me every time I speak to them, & my Maw Maw knew how much I loved her, so I’m grateful for that. I was her first grandchild, & she always told me how much she loved me before we said goodbye each time, & now I’m saying goodbye. Since I was little, she called me her “angel” & now she is mine.💔 ⁣
