My first @Vanity Fair cover . Shot via zoom by the legendary @collierschorrstudio . Thank you @radhikajones and the whole team of magnificent women at @Vanity Fair for this moment and pulling this together in the middle of a pandemic .
Things i remember: getting clothes via fedex (Unpacking and packing up is a beotch , tips hat to all stylists & assistants) and pairing with clothes I thankfully had in my closet . Doing baby hairs and trying to freshen up my month and half old cornrows then FaceTiming @nikkinelms for approval . FT’ing @jessicasmalls to make sure i didn’t overdo or underdo it on the makeup . going over styling via zoom w/ @samiranasr and her yelling at me for putting my hats on the bed . Haha . the quaranteens holding the phone and iPad so collier could get the angles .
@collierschorrstudio telling me to breathe because she could feel through the iPad i wasn’t breathing . the “yaassssss” shouts on zoom to let me know they were right there with me . It took a village .
AND Whoever was responsible for getting MY 20 @erykahbadu , thee @ジュリア・ロバーツ , king @theebillyporter , and our 4eva First Lady @ミシェル・オバマ to be a part of this interview I blame you for my tears . 🥺😭
