It’s easy to be discouraged with all the uncertainty and hurting happening in the world with #COVID19 right now. But refugees like Kituza teach us all an important lesson in resilience and perseverance. Twelve years ago she escaped unspeakable violence when rebels attacked her village and killed her parents in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Only 16, Kituza fled by herself and found safety in Mozambique. In Mozambique she continued her favorite hobby, making dolls. Now she has turned a therapeutic hobby into a small business that can help provide for herself and her family.
