Cummings . My mother has always inspired me to be who I am today and she is why I have such a strong drive and love for fashion. I am so proud to be able to say that I am her daughter and to have been able to follow in her legacy. I remember every day after school I would visit her in her design studio and look at fabrics with her and I loved to go see my grandfather who was the head Patternmaker at the time. I was fascinated by my mom’s determination, drive, and creative talent. She always devoted every possible minute to her children when she wasn’t working and never said, “I’ve had a long day at the office so please don’t bother me”. She always involved me in her work and shared it with me at the dinner table every night with my dad, who ran the company, so I learned all facets of the business. My sisters and I would go to their office on Saturday mornings and then the whole family would go to a movie or a show in the afternoon, or to Hicks for lunch and ice cream sundaes. My mother was always a vivacious, striking redhead that looked more like a model then the designer of Mister Pants, their firm. My elegant mother taught me so much about style, fashion, and sophistication, such as how to dress for cocktail parties or supper club parties and wearing chic pants to the theater. She would bring her sketch boards home and at night, after we went to sleep, her most original creations came to life. I admire my mother and love her dearly. She is my heart and my soul and I’m so happy to be able to speak with her today and wish her the happiest Mother’s Day.」5月11日 4時12分
